Ian was born and raised on Long Island in Centerport, New York.  He completed undergraduate work at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia working in the lab of Dr. Brenzovich researching novel palladium couplings. After completing his bachelor’s degree in 2019 Ian worked for a food analysis lab in Melville, New York. In 2021 Ian returned to southwest Virginia to study chemistry at Virginia Tech and joined the lab of Dr. Adrian Figg studying RAFT photopolymerizations. Outside of lab Ian enjoys hiking, mountain biking, and camping.  Ian also enjoys cooking, reading, and playing with his dogs.
